Mostly a recovery day. Some folks went to work or summer programs. We did some pre-party yard clean-up. Mark’s mother, Mary, is having an early 85th birthday celebration, and many family members will come visit to help celebrate on the 10th.
Melissa has a list of things that she’d like to have done. This is mostly yard work that involves branches that are too high and hedges that are too tall. There’s also a bunch of windows to clean, and vacuuming.
We have taught Melissa to play the card game, Loot. The object is to sail merchant ships filled with the most gold home. Pirate ships can attack, and pirate captains and an admiral complicate the play. She’s pretty good at the strategy, and has won the last two games. We were playing with three folks, the minimum, and the game gets trickier when there are five or more players.
