The vacation was a pleasant break from Eugene and from work in general. I was surprised at how international Victoria was; there were many folks from Asia, India, Africa, as well as Germany, France, and other European nations. We were only there for a few days as tourists, but Victoria felt like a beneficial mix of West-Coast laid-back and English Properness.
We typically walked six or seven miles every day. I've took many photographs (I managed to cull about 300 photos down to about 600) of the Parliament Building, The Butchart Gardens, and orcas. We also had Afternoon Tea (not quite High Tea) Every Day, which was lovely.
The buildings were not as ornate as the ones in New York City, but there were still many with latter-1800's charm.
